Welcome to Clearwater Valley Elementary
Finally the day that we have all been waiting for has arrived. Construction has begun on the new playground surface at Clearwater Valley Elementary. The surface of the playground has been breaking up for some time. This makes it difficult for the children to play ball games. More importantly, the playground has been unsafe at times. Water pools in the low areas and is slick. In the winter these pools freeze and become extremely dangerous. The concrete is being removed at this time. When that is done the area will be re-leveled and an asphalt surface will replace the current play area. The two basketball courts will be turned the other direction to avoid safety concerns near the side entrance. The courts will have a concrete surface. We ask for your patience during the construction. Safety is our number one concern during this project. The construction vehicles are entering and leaving the area at the back of the building. Please do not drop your child off at the back of the school. However, please remember that the road in front of the school is closed to traffic while buses are loading and unloading. The best place to drop off or pick up a child is on the State Street side of the building. For your safety do not try to enter the fenced construction area. If you need to get into the gym please use the breezeway entrance. The children are excited about the new playground surface. They have had very positive attitudes about the changes in our routine. We are all waiting patiently for the day the project is compete and we get to start using our new smooth and safe play area.
